Apple Watch Service and Repair
Learn more about Apple Watch service options, warranty, and pricing.
What are my options for Apple Watch authorized service?
Apple Watch repairs are not completed in-store. We make it easy to send your device to an Apple Repair Center for specialized service. You can:
* Send your Apple Watch to an Apple Repair Center directly. We’ll provide shipping instructions and packaging.
* Ask your Apple Authorized Service Provider or Apple Store technician to send it in for you.
If your Apple Watch is covered by an AppleCare+ plan, you can also request Express Replacement Service. We will send you a replacement before you send us your Apple Watch. Your replacement Apple Watch will have factory settings.
How long will my Apple Watch service take?
Remote service at an Apple Repair Center may take up to 5 business days. With Express Replacement Service, you'll receive a replacement in 2-5 business days.
After you request service, you can check the status at any time.
How much will my Apple Watch service cost?
There’s no charge if the issue is covered by the Apple Limited Warranty, AppleCare+, or consumer law. If your issue isn’t covered, or if your product is damaged, you’ll pay an out-of-warranty or service fee.
What if I have AppleCare+ for Apple Watch?
AppleCare+ gives you expert technical support and hardware coverage from Apple, including accidental damage protection. Each incident of accidental damage is subject to a service fee.
|Model||AppleCare+ service fee|
|Apple Watch and Apple Nike+||$ 69|
|Apple Watch Hermès, Apple Watch Edition||$ 79|
Prices are in US dollars and are subject to tax.
Not sure if you're covered? Check if you have AppleCare+ coverage by entering your Apple Watch serial number.
Get ready for Apple Watch service
Many Apple Watch issues can be resolved by restarting the device. You can also unpair your Apple Watch from your iPhone and then pair it again. Learn how to resolve charging issues.
If you need service, be sure to:
- Charge your Apple Watch
- Unpair your Watch from your iPhone
- Remove your band and keep it along with your charging cable and other accessories. You’ll need these after your Apple Watch service and they cannot be returned.
- Make sure you know your Apple ID and password
- If you have an Apple Watch Edition, remove the loose parts from your Apple Watch Edition Magnetic Charging Case and keep them before you return your Apple Watch for service.
Service is considered out of warranty and comes with a fee when:
- Your Apple Watch is beyond the eligible warranty term.
- Your Apple Watch has an issue that’s not covered under warranty or consumer law, such as accidental damage.
- Your Apple Watch service isn’t covered by an AppleCare plan.
We might be able to fix or replace your Apple Watch for an out-of-warranty fee. In some cases, you might need to pay the full replacement value fee, such as for catastrophic damage or unauthorized modifications.
Replacement equipment that Apple provides as part of the repair or replacement service may contain new or previously used Apple genuine parts that have been tested and pass Apple functional requirements.
If your Apple Watch has a battery, power, or charging issue that’s covered by the Apple Limited Warranty, AppleCare+, or consumer law, we can service your device at no additional cost. If it experiences issues that aren’t covered, or if your battery has worn down from normal use, we can service your device for a fee.
If your Apple Watch display has an issue that’s covered by the Apple Limited Warranty or consumer law, we can service your device at no cost. If you have AppleCare+, damaged glass is subject to a service fee. If you have no coverage, you will pay a higher out-of-warranty fee.
The Apple-branded accessories that come in the box with your product may be covered at no additional cost under the Apple Limited Warranty, consumer law, or AppleCare+. Contact Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider for service details.
We can help with returns or exchanges of third-party accessories that you bought from Apple. For service or support, contact the accessory manufacturer.
Genuine Apple Parts are critical to a quality repair. Visit an Apple Authorized Service Provider to make sure you get your product back working the way it should.
International travel with your Apple Watch
If your Apple Watch has an electronic SIM card, it won’t support cross-border roaming with your existing plan. To optimize the performance of your Apple Watch during an international trip, you can turn off the LTE features on your device.
See our support article for more information on setting up your eSIM.
Express Replacement Service
Express Replacement Service is a benefit of your AppleCare+ plan.
Your product warranty
The Apple Limited Warranty covers your Apple Watch and Apple-branded accessories against manufacturing defects from the date you bought your product. The warranty period varies by model. The Apple Limited Warranty is in addition to rights provided by consumer law.
Our warranty doesn't cover damage caused by accidents or unauthorized modifications. See the warranty for complete details. You can check your coverage status online and update your proof-of-purchase information if there's an error in our records. If our warranty, your AppleCare plan, or consumer law don't cover your repair, you'll pay out-of-warranty fees.
Your country or region might have consumer-protection laws for some repair issues.
Our guarantee after service
We guarantee our service, including replacement parts, for 90 days or the remaining term of your Apple warranty or AppleCare+ coverage, whichever is longer. We offer this whenever you get service from us or from an Apple Authorized Service Provider. This is in addition to rights provided by consumer law.
